When Cailey and Brendan asked me to accompany them in Tucson for their Arizona destination wedding, I jumped at the chance. This was my very first wedding outside of Canada, and it was a great experience. The backdrop behind their ceremony featured mountains and giant cactuses, it was the coolest.
She rode in on a motorcycle
Cailey rode into the ceremony on a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was driven by her dad. After the ceremony, Cailey and Brendan took some pictures on top of the bike in the middle of the road. The sun was shining and the background was full of mountains, it was gorgeous.
A 23 ft long veil
The wedding dress was super important to Cailey – she chose a beautiful long sleeve dress from Berta. Her veil was an incredible 23 ft long and handmade by Cailey and her mom! I have a huge love for veil shots, so I was super excited thinking about all the dramatic photographs I was about to take.
Non-traditional wedding party
Brendan and Cailey’s wedding was very non-traditional in all the best ways. Brendan’s sisters were on his side of the wedding party, and Cailey’s brother was standing on her side. Brendan’s sisters wore black suits and looked like they were right out of a high fashion magazine. The wedding colours were black and white with an accent of gold which looked amazing with the desert and cactus background.
An Arizona destination wedding to remember
They had an intimate outdoor reception with all of their closest friends and family. After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a snack from an authentic taco truck. As for the main course at the reception, we were all surprised to see a pizza delivery guy show up with at least 25 pizza boxes – everyone loved it! I love how each aspect of the wedding was carefully planned out to create a celebration that was uniquely them down to the last detail.
